finally finished Jill’s blog just a few hours ago, and as of this very moment, she’s putting in the tagboard, flickr, sitemeter, some kind of tracker script and all them other blog doodads.
I’ve always wanted to that ‘lampas-lampas’ design, like when in this case, the yahoo avatar overlaps the ‘sabitskipoint’ image on the title and so with the big ball and the columns, after which you’d have the html stuff on top of all that. It was fun playing around with the blogger.com elements, such as “bloggerdescription” for the, uhmm, description (obviously).
My homies in the ph-css ygroup’ll be disappointed as I didn’t fully CSS the whole thing, using it for only the tricky stuff like background, and positioning the description in the middle. After that I mostly used it for the regular stuff like colors, fonts and links. I’ll eventually make a full table-less design one day, it’s just IE is such, such a bitch when it comes to compliance. The description alone caused a weird result that took around twenty minutes to figure out, I can only imagine the problems if I tried the whole thing. I even took a while trying to figure out z-index, to no avail as it just plain didn’t work.
After this, the next fairly sure things lined up is Jill’s sorority site, and possibly an ex-teammate’s forum for the basketball team of the call-center where he works, featuring 24 teams (!), which I gladly agreed to make and host for the Adsense rights as agreed. I’m quite happy with how Adsense and forums interact so well, from experience with bEx. The beX google ads are so well-related to the content (wi-fi, LANs, WANs, routers, hubs, networking, IP related products etc.) that I’m almost confident I’d want to set it to “image & text” if not completely “image” ads, with little worry about those all-too-common Bohol or Palawan tourist ads. Forums, if successful, also generate page after page of content, so I really think it’d do better on ads than most web services other than the busiest of blogs, so much so that I’m thinking of seriously making one for my Pc.Exchange.ph group. Google also recently released a forum adsense placement guide (just google for it am too lazy to look for the link :) ), somewhat helping in relieving us of the previously held general opinion that forums were in violation of Adsense’s rules something or other. Well I’ll ask the members on the list what they think of a forum first, get the hype going as well ;).
My client Itechmobile.net’s update is about 80% done already, I’ll finish that this week. Any day now m-ph.com is gonna need an update to reflect the latest issue, and I’ve already done updating the PCmag.ph website, I’m just waiting for the go-ahead to upload the latest version, which now has a php picture gallery I set up featuring pics from their Fastest Geek 2005 contest. Then there are possibly two new clients, one just a simple html corporate thing and another a e-commerce site about baby gear for a US client.
It’s gonna be a busy week, but hell who’s complaining! As long as may trabaho, I feel blessed :)
