Let me just state categorically that..

MetrobankFor the record, Metrobank’s P50.00 surcharge for interbank deposits, is the most blatant attempt I’ve yet seen by a bank to suck money out of anyone unlucky enough to have to deal with them.

This I found out today, when I paid my host at a nearby Ortigas Avenue Extension, Cainta branch. The host’s account happened to be in Quezon City.

Granted, sitting for an hour as I waited in line, watching VIP clients waltz through while employees avoid our stares and gossip with them and each other may have contributed to my demeanour, but there it is.

I hereby challenge anyone to prove that a deposit transaction from Cainta, costs, or physically incurs any more effort than, say, the same transaction done at Pasig, no more than 10 kilometers away. And also, should that increased cost had been a result of an oversight in planning their systems or some similar situation, then why are their customers made to pay.

That’s all I’ve to say about that.
