As Im running Movie Exchange.ph and Basketball Exchange.ph now, posts here have become few and far between. That’s not to say of course, that not much has happened. On the contrary, tons and tons have, and so I must find time to blog, if only because blogs among other things are a great way of… Continue reading Performancing For Firefox Rocks. Hard.

AklatangPambata.org Going Strong
Apologies for the corny title as titles have always been my waterloo, but at any rate, it’s fairly apt.
AklatangPambata.org, a Quezon City based NGO whose goal it is to establish libraries across the country, is run by Troy Lacsamana, a multi-awarded librarian and among the recipients of the top 5 HSBC Volunteers in Person last October 2005 by Hands on Manila.
He first contacted me last March 5 as a respondent to my Free Websites program after it was posted on the Portia UP sorority maillist, which I also did as part of that program.
RIP Soozyhopper
I’ve no idea who she/he is, what she/he does, where (I’ll just choose she) she gets here info, and who those people are she talks about.
The only thing I know is that the day Soozyhopper died, is a sad day in Philippine Blogging history.
Why?
Plain and simple, Soozy spoke the truth, or at least the truth as she saw it.
First takes on the Amoi Blue M626 Laptop
If it weren’t for aforementioned quality issues, I’d recommend the Amoi Blue M626, especially at the competitive Php46,000.00 SRP. However due to such, and the fact they don’t make even bother to provide English manuals, I’d say keep away.
In search of the ‘cowboy’ phone
My old phone has been wanting to be put to pasture for almost a year now, and cheapskate (I prefer to call it ‘practical’) man that I am, I’ve been holding off on buying one for just as long.
Well, there’re other reasons actually. And they’re also the reason why I’m using a five year old+ phone. I’ll try to list them down:
First takes on the NEC Versa M350 1704DW
First takes on Acer Travelmate 3242WXMi
Taking a quick break right now from reviewing the gadgets to post my first notes about the Acer Travelmate 3242WXMi, the first model I’ve tried.
There’s a ‘Travelmate 3240’ tag at the lower right side of the monitor. This indicates the series, and ‘3242WXMi’ is the model within that series. I think there are 27 different series from the 2400 to the 8200, with several different types of models falling under each.
It’s unclear how many are in the 3240 series, as neither the Taiwan or Philippine Acer website neglects to mention it. In fact, the Philippine Acer site doesn’t even list the 3242WXMi at all, instead offering 10 other models.
From what I’ve discerned, there are four Series, namely the Travelmate, Tablet PC, Aspire, and Ferrari . I haven’t really determined the diff between Aspire and Travelmate, but I’ll get there soon enough.
First takes on the O2 XDA Atom
Why I’m putting this one back in the box.
Gadgets Galore (mid 2006 version)
Gadget season is upon us again (I’m serious. It’s about this time the industry is gearing up to release new stuff), and just like around December to Feb, they are piling up again for review.
Here’s a list of what I’ve got so far:
Joey Saves Inq Tech-Writing World, Starting With ‘You’
I like linking to Joey Alarilla. If you wanna have a sudden gush of visitors, in my case from 1 to a whopping 5 (wow!!!), then go link to Joey Alarilla. Joey , Joey , Joey , Joey.
Anyway, Joey (ok enough with the links), was nice enough to email a heads up re the relaunching of the you.inq7.net site.
I think the Acer 3242WXMi now has some competition after I took this one out of the box last night. At this very moment, it’s sitting on the desk running on batteries, with all the screensavers and power saving options turned off so I could time how long it takes till it dies.
