So as a follow up to my Vertical Horizon post I bring forthwith images to serve as proof that gaddammet we were there!!! (and just barely)

Friday 12/7 will be etched in my mind as one of the most eventful days ever. After a harrowing experience with the most assholest person I’ve ever known, I unperturbedly rushed from one end of this traffic infested city to the other, excited at the prospect of the wonderful concert that night only to find out we had no ride (Jill’s car was inexplicably borrowed). An hour then passed in surrender to our fate (which we spent by walking Killer, the Exchange.ph Dog *his new monicker* around the block), until when the car magically arrived.
At that point you’d think our situation would have been alleviated if it were not for the fact that it was a Friday night and driving even at hellish levels to Araneta from Las Pinas would take a good 2 hours. So in resignation we spent the time listening and singing to 80’s songs on the radio.
Amazingly however when we got there V. Horizon was only into their 1st song the strains of ‘Everything You Want’ echoing through the cracks of the ancient coliseum. Thank God for Rivermaya and Jamie Kennedy whom I had no idea how he spent the time onstage, and off to the cheap seats we went.
Now let me tell you about the cheap seats. Two years ago I was the recipient of extra tickets from a good friend to the Jars of Clay gig at the same venue and same seats, and I still think it was one of the most wonderful concert experiences in my life. I’ve attended a lot of concerts in my time and from different vantage points, but to my mind (and this isn’t just my wallet talking), the Gen. Admission seats are the best because they’re usually desolate (NO ONE else around for miles. You can do the robot or writhe like a snake on the floor and no one would give a damn), you get a bird’s eye view of everything going on (meaning when the band starts singing some of their crappy songs, you can entertain yourself by checking out the mass of people underneath, all straining to get a good view), and finally, when I did attend a concert once when there were people, these were the most uninhibited and were literally dancing from minute 1 to the end, so it was by far the funnest crowd.
And of course, lets not forget they’re just dirt cheap!
At the end of the day you get a knockout live concert from a terrific band and the chance to cuddle your loved one in the back, waaay back seats with no one giving a damn. The band was just 50% of why it was a great experience. The rest is just the chance to hang, and I mean truly lay back, relax and lets assholes be assholes in their dark gloomy and sad part of the world where they can’t touch you if they tried.
That’s what it’s all about.
Good for you, Dude!!! That was why you were absent from the games last Friday… Hehehe…
