Two for one mag and another for a broadsheet. I’m scheduled to forward one more on Friday and another on Monday, all of them tech related btw.
Yes that’s right, I’m on a writing ‘spree’, and I can’t wait to write even more.
Domestic situations, difficult as they are, have settled a bit, or at least long enough for me to set my mind on things a-techie, so as to finally conjure an opinion, comment or review worthwhile enough to be published.
The point of this post? I hope you read Inq7.net last Wed August 17, then I hope you read m|ph this September, and two more for Speed Magazine on October.
To be honest, I’m still fairly flattered that people (ie editors) find what I write worthwhile. Although I come from a family chockfull of writers, I never really got it into my head that I was a writer writer. I remember only
wanting to be one, so I’m just as surprised I am, let alone actually writing / getting published, and doing so part time for a living.
The term ‘writer’ as it is connoting such a high brow type of personality, or person as it is, I still find it difficult for me to call myself one. Yes I can call myself a guy who writes articles for magazines, yes I can call myself just another dude trying to make an honest buck, but a real real writer? Images of much much greater, more intelligent, better educated men and women come to mind.
At any rate, there I am, in last week’s broadsheet, and there you are, four articles either sent or soon to be emailed onto publisher’s waiting presses. And there you are too – editors happy to receive them.
For whatever it’s worth – it’s a terrific feeling.
