After the writing bug of the past two weeks, I’ve been bitten by the design bug this past weekend, the m|ph blog’s latest header being my latest victim. I change the header to reflect the latest cover every month, and this one took approximately 3~5 hours spread over three days to do (not counting the time actually dreaming up the design), partly because I repair other things along the way, such as the Google Search box which was improved by Google these past few months and therefore deserved an update.

a crying shame

Making the rounds of the maillists these days is mediag8way’s linuxworld, which promises to be an exciting event, with 4 conference tracks that include introduction to business applications, more technical and systems admininstration, “meet the experts” (which should be interesting in itself), and an advocacy / public interest part which is open to the public.

chances are, a lot of people would say yes, and that is why I think Google might just go for it – the unspeakable – the unthinkable – make their own OS.

howto put google ads on a phpbb forum

I got to do something productive today! I finally managed to put Google Ads onto my project Broadband Exchange. I actually manage five or so PHPBB installations, but bEx (as I like to call it), is mine and mine alone, which allows me to a.) screw it up if I feel like it and b.) put humongous Google Ads again, should the wind blow in that direction.

At any rate, let me list down what I did, partially for myself, and mostly really for whoever else out there who wants to learn this stuff. But firstly some groundrules:
