‘The Hurt Lucker’

In my never ending quest for a nice bug, I happened onto this beaut at BF:

I’m obsessed with Volkswagens, particularly the Type 3 variety and its many variants.
When I first moved here, I would pass by this talyer along the highway where I would see exactly that type of vehicle peek out from a canvass top. Needless to say, it piqued my interest to boiling point, and I resolved to check it out once I had the chance. A few days ago was that chance.
I actually have a different site to herald events going on on the Exchange sites, but I’m announcing it here anyway. MomEx now has Book Reviews, starting with a review from Jill re a book for teens. I worked all day today on this and I’m pretty happy how that worked out. Later on I’m gonna tweak the node page further to align the image and highlight stuff better but for the most part I’m happy.
This is the 2nd feature I’ve added recently, the first one being the Bloggerfeeds section, which shows feeds from 18 and counting Mom Blogs at the moment. Some blog more often than others naturally, but I’m getting good stuff for the most part.
Went for a fantastic walk today from the house to Paseo, the shopping center. Only went halfway back though because I had to shop at Rustan’s for rice. I bought into the brown rice healthy shtick only to be told be Jill that it tastes like cardboard, so I’m feeling like a shmuck right now. Glad I only bought 5 kilos.
Work wise I’m firing on all cylinders to get some business going with some big clients. I had some bad luck with a few ones but there’s nothing I could’ve done about that, so I’ve pretty much closed the door and moved on in my head. Feel much better now frankly.

The pauso pinakbet really turned out ok. Prob is I’d had to make enough to accommodate all the veggies I bought, and soon I got tired of it so I have to admit some of it went to the trash can. What a waste, but at least I learned an important lesson – portions – or in other words, cooking just enough and not just to feed me but factoring in variety and how bored I’d get with a dish as well.
Anyway, the problem persisted. I ate mostly pork, chicken and fish, I definitely needed to put some greenery in my diet. So I think I found it.
I love pinakbet. Problem is the ingredients are bad for me, ie. Bagoong, Baguio Beans (or any beans), Shrimp and Okra. Just the fact Bagoong is bad for me completely nixes this dish out obviously, as Pinakbet in English is translated ‘Meat Vegetable Stew in Shrimp Paste’.
Current diet however, suggests I need to eat more veggies. And I really really want some. So..
