Ah when one is bored and Photoshop is available.

Normalcy
Ace is now at the ripe old age of 5 days and is a sleeping, eating and pooping machine. He is thankfully low maintenance which is helping us making the decision to move back to the condo sooner, pending the hiring of a yaya.

I can’t emphasize how wonderful it is that he isn’t difficult. All he needs is whatever he is crying about, and that can either be a new diaper or more often than not, food. Once provided he is a happy sleeping baby. I’m sure that’s on the surface though, because I’m convinced his body is working hard to make itself stronger. As it is he apparently doesn’t even have nose hairs to filter out dust, causing him to sneeze every so often. I’m sure the rest of his body needs to improve its ability to fight sickness and things like that. All of which are happening via the magic of milk (mostly formula until his mom can provide a regular supply), and rest. And he is getting a lot of rest, a reported straight 5 hours yesterday.
Baby Ace!!
I was just about to title this post ‘waiting for baby ace’ when I got a call. I rushed over to the OR and..Â
3.35 kgs., 49cm., head 36cm., chest 34 cm., ac 31cm. Anghel Christopher Mercado, birthday 5/15/13. Actually this was my first photo of him:
Movie Review: It Takes A Man And A Woman
The movie is about a couple on a long distance relationship that breaks up when Laida (Sarah) comes home to find Miggy (John Lloyd) kissing someone else. Flashbacks were used to show he did so only because he was vulnerable at the time due to his dad having just died. Laida goes back to the US and never forgives him despite his many attempts at reconciliation. It should be noted Laida is also sore at her father who cheated on her mother. This is important to understand what Laida’s issue is: a supposed inability to forgive, which I did not really get out of her. More on that later.
Miggy is the black sheep of a wealthy family whose publishing company is counting on finalizing a republishing agreement with a big brand in the US (or some franchising scheme I imagine), and wouldn’t you know, the only person who can help them is Laida. Much of the scenes have to do with the two dealing with each other along with Isabelle Daza, his current girlfriend who also happens to work with them.
Iron Man 3 Review
I just stepped out the theater and here’s what I’m thinking:
Tony Stark was supposed to have been undergoing some kind of issue that may or may not have been discussed in the past and it has to do with how he cannot sleep. I think there may have been a story somewhere there and they should have pursued that, a kind of ‘he is not as infallible as you think’, always compelling with superhero stories imo, but for some reason they didn’t.
Or maybe they did, but at some point during the movie a villain appeared, (the guy who played the king’s brother in ‘The King’s Speech’), and there started a story around him as well as a girl (she played Ben Affleck’s girlfriend in the excellent ‘The Town’), but it wasn’t really interesting, didn’t make sense, or both. At any rate I felt I was being distracted from what I really wanted to know – what was wrong with Tony Stark and how was he going to deal with it.
Day Of Valor Potato Chips
Got this off of here, the first Google result when you search potato chips.
Thank You So Much Mr. Ebert
As far as I can remember, the environment I grew in was packed with lies. My elders believed that my uncle, who was not perfect but was a good man nonetheless, was not suitable to go to heaven because he was gay. Another said he loved his partner but his actions said otherwise. People all around me would deal with matters on the surface, but not touch the core. It was a confusing and frustrating time to try to find a foundation of things to believe in.
The only place I found refuge was sports and art, particularly the commercial ones, meaning books and movies. You cannot argue with sports and there is no refuting the honesty you find in art. Sure there was a lot of garbage out there, but if you search long and hard enough you will find true, honest art. Akin to finding a flower in the desolation of a desert, it is pure and usually the most beautiful of all.
Overcoming The Technophobes
When I was a retainer for a law firm I took the opportunity to thoroughly study the technophobes in residence there. Because they were usually the older ones, as is the stereotype, it occurred to me that the reason they were against the learning and even the implementation of technology was, among many reasons, it made them feel antiquated.
I realized after wrestling with the idea that the reason they weren’t open to it was that they attributed new technology with the new associates, and hence they did not like how this lack of understanding of the new seemingly gave the newer kids the upper hand. And we’re not talking high tech here. Just PCs and the Internet. Little did they know of course that many of these newer kids were just as clueless as they were, but as far as they were concerned of course they were the dinosaurs. Leslie Update: Parts Bought From Vietnam Finally Arrived
Quick update on what’s going on with the bike. I found a Vietnamese store to buy parts from here. I corresponded with the guy there for almost three weeks trying to figure out what I wanted until I finally bought the ff.:
- tail light – 11.50
- winkers front and rear -16.00
- chain guard -15.50
- ignition -10.50
Prices are in pound sterling, so with shipping that worked out to about P4,400+. I didn’t buy too many because I was nervous with how much it would end up with, tax and all, when it got here. Then a few days ago, the parcel finally arrived.

Things Are Humming Along
Ok this might be the Chocolate Sundae I just had from Jollibee talking, but I just wanted to say how happy I am that things are humming along. I’ll be honest. Right now I have a zillion things I have to do, a deadline with a client has waved past waaaaay long ago, a project I had high hopes for desperately needs more attention and I don’t have a new prospect to look forward to for the first time in a long time.
Despite all this however, I have to say things could be a lot worse. Last night my sis in law came back home with her 2 month old baby and my whole in law family was just bursting with happiness and excitement. It’s the kind of environment I had always hoped to grow my own family around and last night I felt like patting myself on the back. Whatever happens from now on I have a group of people I can rely on. You just don’t know how important that is until you do not have it. I didn’t and now I do. This is very important.
